Ecotourism
The Plaza Beach Hotel continues to develop and promote tourism that is socially, culturally and environmentally acceptable. Our hotel is 100% locally owned and staffed and we continually upgrade the skills of our workforce by providing in-house training and re-training. Our food requirements are sourced from neighboring organic farms and our gardens and lawns are also organically landscaped.

Solar energy is used for water heating, and on-going changes are always taking place within our property towards adopting sustainable water and waste management systems, among other environmentally friendly changes.

The Plaza Beach Hotel is committed to the preservation and conservation of Kenya's environment and we support a variety of environmental projects through our membership in major conservation societies such as the Ecotourism Society of Kenya (ESOK) and the Environmental Trust of Kenya (ETK), amongst others. We also belong to the Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and Caterers (KAHC) and the Mombasa and Coast Tourism Association (MCTA), who play an important role in ensuring the highest standards as well as maintenance of harmony within the industry through their appropriate Codes of Conduct. We welcome suggestions and co-operation from our visitors to help keep Kenya green.
