The Plaza Beach Hotel is situated on Bamburi Beach along Mombasa's North Coast. The hotel is a 30 minute drive from Moi International Airport and just 20 minutes from the culturally rich town of Mombasa. Enjoy a relaxing swim in our fresh-water pool, or choose from a wide range of beach recreation and sporting activities such as windsurfing, sailing, snorkeling and scuba diving, jet skiing, fishing and beach volleyball. Indoor gaming facilities such as table tennis and billiards are also offered within the hotel.

Because of its location, guests also have the choice of numerous attractions and activities conveniently located in the vicinity: It is literally a 7 minute glass bottomed boat ride to the amazing national marine park, located at the nearby coral reef. The fish and aquatic life are truly spectacular, and the colours dazzling. Try your hand at snorkeling - it's a great experience.

The deep sea fishing moorings are nearby for those who wish to try angling our famed Sailfish and Marlin. We are a 5 minute walk to Haller Park, which is a remarkable restoration of a huge disused quarry that now has diverse bird and animal life, a lake, a jogging and biking track and an exercise circuit. It also houses an amazing butterfly farm. Down the road, only a 10 minute drive, you can visit the famous Owen and Mzee, a baby hippo that was orphaned by the tsunami and 'adopted' by a tortoise over 90 years old. They are still together now.

A 10 minute drive from the hotel will take you to a shopping centre and department store, where anything you may need can be purchased. The famous Nyali Golf Club is only another 5 minutes away by car. Right next to the Club is the newly opened water and entertainment park.

Another 5 minutes down the road will get you to the Nyali Cineplex and entertainment centre, where you will find cinemas, bowling alleys and an assortment of restaurants. The city of Mombasa is about 20 minutes drive from the hotel, and here you can view the famous Fort Jesus, which is a World Trust for Culture UNESCO protected site. You can wander around Old Town and view the Old Port, where trading has carried on with China and the East since the 1200s.

Some of the most ornate of Muslim architecture and design can be seen in the many mosques and preserved buildings in Old Town. And do try your hand at some gold shopping. Mombasa has a wide choice of restaurants serving excellent and varied cuisines. All these restaurants are located close to the hotel.
